Michelle Obama Reveals There Is ‘Zero Chance’ She’ll Run For President – ‘It’s Just Not For Me’

Yesterday, documentary filmmaker Michael Moore had called on former First Lady Michelle Obama to run for president, saying that she’s the only person who could “crush” Trump. Just one day later, however, Michelle has spoken out to say that there is “zero chance” she will ever run for president.

Fox News reported that Michelle confirmed she will never run during a new interview with 12-year-old journalist Hilde Lysiak to promote her Better Make Room campaign that is geared towards college students.

“A lot of people want you to run for president. You’ve publicly said that you aren’t interested, but everyone says that until they actually run,” Lysiak said to her. “Just between us, if you thought the country needed you and you thought you could really help our nation, is there even a one percent chance you’d consider running?”

“Just between us, and the readers of this magazine — there’s zero chance,” Michelle replied. “There are so many ways to improve this country and build a better world, and I keep doing plenty of them, from working with young people to helping families lead healthier lives. But sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office will never be one of them. It’s just not for me.”

This came immediately after Moore called on Michelle to run in an interview with MSNBC.

"In fact, it is Obama — Michelle Obama,” Moore said. “Everybody watching this right now knows she is a beloved American and she would go in there and she would beat him.”

“The only way to remove Trump is to crush Trump. And that’s the question that has to be asked, who can crush Trump? Who’s the street fighter?” Moore continued, adding that Michelle would indeed crush Trump.

“She would beat him in the debates, he wouldn’t be able to bully her, he wouldn’t be able to nickname her,” Moore said. “She takes the stage and she’s so powerful and so good you just look at that and think of course she could win.”

Michelle has previously said many times that she never wants to run for office.

“The reason why I don’t want to run for president — and I can’t speak for Oprah [Winfrey] — but my sense is that, first of all, you have to want the job,” Michelle said back in April, referring to rumors that Winfrey also might run. And you can’t just say, ‘Well, you’re a woman, run.’ We just can’t find the women we like and ask them to do it, because there are millions of women who are inclined and do have the passion for politics.”

“I’ve never had the passion for politics,” she added, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I just happened to be married to somebody who has the passion for politics, and he drug me kicking and screaming into the arena.”
