Michael Moore Demands Michelle Obama Run For President – Claims She’ll Crush Trump

The radically leftwing documentary filmmaker Michael Moore spoke out this week to call on former First Lady Michelle Obama to run for president, arguing that there is only one person who can “crush” Donald Trump in the election, “and her last name rhymes with Obama.”

“In fact, it is Obama — Michelle Obama,” Moore said during an interview with MSNBC. “Everybody watching this right now knows she is a beloved American and she would go in there and she would beat him.”

The Hill reported that Moore went on to say that it is not enough to have a presidential candidate who would beat Trump in the number of votes, pointing out that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by three million votes in 2016.

“The only way to remove Trump is to crush Trump. And that’s the question that has to be asked, who can crush Trump? Who’s the street fighter?” Moore said.

Moore added that he feels that the only four Democratic candidates who could beat Trump are Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Kamala Harris, but he also said that this would not be enough. Unlike those four, Moore thinks Michelle would absolutely annihilate Trump.

"She would beat him in the debates, he wouldn’t be able to bully her, he wouldn’t be able to nickname her,” Moore said, citing the former first lady’s popular tour for her memoir “Becoming.”

“She takes the stage and she’s so powerful and so good you just look at that and think of course she could win,” he said.

As of right now, however, Michelle is not a candidate in the 2020 presidential race.

“Well, has anyone asked her?” Moore questioned. “If asked to serve, I believe she would serve.”

Michelle has actually been asked to run many times, and she has always refused to do so, saying she has no interest in being president.

“The reason why I don’t want to run for president — and I can’t speak for Oprah [Winfrey] — but my sense is that, first of all, you have to want the job,” Michelle said back in April, referring to rumors that Winfrey also might run. And you can’t just say, ‘Well, you’re a woman, run.’ We just can’t find the women we like and ask them to do it, because there are millions of women who are inclined and do have the passion for politics.”

“I’ve never had the passion for politics,” she added, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I just happened to be married to somebody who has the passion for politics, and he drug me kicking and screaming into the arena.”

Michelle went on to say that just being praised for good speeches she’s given in the past does not make her qualified for office.

“Just because I gave a good speech, I’m smart and intelligent doesn’t mean I should be the next president,” Michelle said. “That’s not how we should pick the president. That’s been our problem. We’re very shortsighted about how we think about selecting the commander in chief.”
