Barack Obama Panicking Over Joe Biden’s Presidential Run – Fears He’ll ‘Damage His Legacy’

New reports are coming in stating that Barack Obama tried desperately to talk his former Vice President Joe Biden out of running for president because he fears he’ll “damage his legacy.”

“You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t,” Obama allegedly told Biden, according to a New York Times report. The report went on to say that Obama “took pains to cast his doubts about the campaign in personal terms.” It also stated that Obama warned staffers that whether Biden wins or loses, they need to make sure he does not “embarrass yourself” or “damage his legacy.”

Biden reportedly responded by saying that he could not forgive himself if he turned down another chance to beat Donald Trump. Daily Mail reported that Obama has met with Biden multiple times to discuss his run, even advising him on who to hire for his team. The former president reportedly told Biden that he needs to hire more young people because his team was “too old” and “out of touch with the current political climate.”

During the 2016 election, Biden was “quietly pressured” by Obama to not run because the former president favored Hillary Clinton over him.

“I regret it every day,” Biden said of his decision not to run, adding that it was “the right decision” for his family.

Fox News host Rachel Campos Duffy agreed that Obama did not want Biden to run.

“I think that Obama clearly never really wanted Biden to be running anyway,” Duffy said. “I think he knows he’s a gaffe machine, I think he’s very afraid that Biden might damage his legacy.”

Duffy also said that Biden’s age seemed to affect him more than Trump was affected by his own age.

“Donald Trump can outwork anyone and he’s, I think, the only president who actually starts to look younger in office,” she said.

Biden has already slipped up numerous times in his campaign, making a series of humiliating mistakes. The Hill reported that Biden recently told an audience of Asian and Hispanic voters that “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.” Two days later, he mistakenly said he had met with students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, during his time as vice president, even though the shooting occurred when Trump was in office.

“A lot of people are nervous that he’s lost some of his mojo,” said one major Democratic donor. “They’re getting nervous about him going toe to toe with Trump. But the problem is, there doesn’t seem to be an alternative.”
