Michelle Obama Attacks Trump – Gets Hit Back Twice as Hard

Michelle Obama reemerged over the weekend to bash Donald Trump and his supporters during a lengthy interview with CBS’ Gayle King at the Essence Festival in New Orleans. Unfortunately for Michelle, however, her remarks have not gone over very well.

Fox News reported that Michelle appeared to criticize Trump without using his name when she explained why she and her husband, former President Barack Obama, would be supporting whichever Democrat wins the primary.

“The leader of the free world with a tweet can start a war, can crush an economy, can change the future of our children,” Michelle said, going on to add that the president needs to have “deep seriousness and focus” and operate “with a clear base of facts and ideas.” She went on to claim that she thinks her husband made the job look easy.

“I guess it’s kind of like if the black guy can do it, anybody can do it — and that’s not true,” Michelle explained. “It’s a hard job.”

Michelle then shifted gears to talk about how miserable attending Trump’s inauguration was for her, making sure to take digs at the president’s supporters as she did so. She went so far as to claim that she was one of the only “people of color” in attendance at the event.

“And then we had to meet the Trumps,” Michelle said, according to Daily Wire. “That day was very emotional and then to sit at that inauguration and to look around at a crowd that was not reflective of the country, and I had to sit in that audience, one of a handful of people of color, and then listen to that speech, all that I had sort of held on to for eight years, watching my husband get raked over the coals, feeling like we had to do everything perfectly, so by the time I got on that plane, it was release of eight years of having to try to show up, as we all know we have to do, not only perfectly but a little bit better than perfect to even be considered equal.”

When asked what it was like to campaign beside her husband, Michelle blasted Americans for trying to “take me out by the knees.”

“For a minute there, I was an angry black woman who was emasculating her husband,” Michelle claimed. “As I got more popular, that’s when people of all sides — Democrats and Republicans — tried to take me out by the knees and the best way to do it was to focus on the one thing people were afraid of: the strength of a black woman.”

Unfortunately for Michelle, her comments have already come back to bite her, as fed-up social media users have not hesitated to fire back at her.

It should be noted that there is a longstanding tradition in this country in which former presidents and First Ladies do not publicly criticize their successors. Since leaving office, however, the Obamas have made it clear that they have no interest in adhering to this, as they have held nothing back in their frequent attacks on Trump.
