CNN Goes Off the Rails: April Ryan Goes Nuts on Trump After Baltimore Comments

CNN has been having a field day trying to associate Pres. Trump’s comments about Rep. Elijah Cummings to racism. CNN political analyst April Ryan, who has been a vocal critic of the president, came on air yesterday to continue the network’s narrative.

During her interview, Ryan said: “it’s about fixing the problem, not laughing at it.”

Ryan said, “He represents a district of black, white, Jew, gentile, Protestant and Catholic, and he’s got people from all walks of life who respect him. I hear it from those in the Jewish community, the white community, the black community.

“Now what’s happening is that this conservative hate machine is putting out black people to say that Elijah should be doing this and doing that. Yes, Baltimore is hurting. But it’s not just about Elijah Cummings,” she continued. “It’s about the president of the United States.

“Mr. President, where are you? What about urban renewal? It’s not about these empowerment Zones or whatever these Zones it’s about fixing the problem, not laughing at it. You’re the president of black people, too. People are hurting, and you’re turning a blind eye.

“An American city is hurting and this man who is sitting in the prime spot to do something is turning a blind eye and laughing.”

In a rant on the same day, also on CNN, Ryan openly admitted her “reporter hat is off.”

On Saturday, Trump targeted Cummings’ handling of the city of Baltimore, which continues to struggle with crime and homelessness. The district is majority African American, and the president’s critics have accused his comments of being racist. Cummings is chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform; he has used his time and position to launch and oversee numerous investigations into Trump’s administration.

The media is using the opportunity to try and portray Trump’s comments as being racially motivated–but the president has insisted that his criticisms of Baltimore have nothing to do with race. How did Baltimore improve under Barack Obama? How has Baltimore improved under decades of Democrat leadership?

Every time a liberal gets corned by the truth, they always pivot away from responsibility and blame the person who is stating facts. Trump is wrong on many things, but he is right on this.
