Ilhan Omar Is Finally Caught – Forced To Pay Thousands In Campaign Violations

Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has long claimed that she never violated campaign finance laws, but she was just exposed as the liar that she is in front of the entire world when it was revealed that she actually did do just that.
The New York Post reported that Omar reimburse her campaign account about $3,500 and to pay a fine of $500 after an investigation concluded that she had violated campaign finance laws in both 2016 and 2017. In fact, investigators found that Omar has been illegally using campaign funds ever since she was a state representative.
The illegal spending that Omar partook in included a $1,500 payment to a law firm that she hired to respond to unproven allegations that she married her brother during an “immigration scheme.” The other campaign money that Omar spent illegally was used to travel to Boston, Chicago and Washington, DC, for political events.
When Republican Minnesota state Rep. Steve Drazkowski initially filed an initial complaint about Omar’s illegal spending last year, she denied all allegations and called him a “bigot.”
I had observed a long pattern,” Drazkowski said. “Rep. Omar hasn’t followed the law. She’s repeatedly trampled on the laws of the state in a variety of areas, and gotten by with it.”
While Omar was quick to use the race card to mouth off about her innocence before, she is now singing a very different tune after being ordered to pay back the money she spent illegally.
“I’m glad this process is complete and that the Campaign Finance Board has come to a resolution on this matter,” Omar told The Star Tribune.
“In addition to complying with the Board’s findings, I plan on closing the account from my State House race and distributing the funds to organizations that help train first-time candidates to run for office—so that the next generation of candidates and their teams know how to adequately track and report campaign expenses,” she later added. “I also believe we need to dedicate more resources to our campaign finance agencies—and I look forward to supporting these efforts.”
Clearly, Omar was hoping that nobody would look into her campaign spending at all so that she could spend it however she wanted. When she got caught by a Republican, she thought she could silence him by labeling him a “bigot” despite the fact that she knew he was right about the allegations against her. We’re glad to see that Omar has been brought right back down to Earth and has learned the hard way that she is not above the law.
