Ted Cruz Confronts Ilhan Omar – Leaves Her Looking Like a Fool

The Democrats have been very resistant to a merit-based immigration system. Rather than attempting to allow the highest quality immigrants into the country, the left would rather have completely open borders, and allow anyone and everyone into the country.
Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is one of the most radical progressives in congress. On Tuesday, according to a report in the Daily Caller, the congresswoman said that people from Latin America would fail if the US implemented a merit-based system; essentially, she suggested that these individuals do not have merit.
She said, “A ‘merit based’ immigration policy is fueled toward the Latinx community. Our immigration policies shouldn’t be based on discrimination, fear, or bigotry. We should welcome immigrants to our country and offer a simple pathway to citizenship.”
Harvard-educated Texas Senator Ted Cruz schools Omar after her remarks.
Cruz said, “As the son of a Cuban immigrant whose Dad came to get a math degree & become a computer programmer, I’m troubled that Dems seem to believe Hispanic immigrants can’t qualify for skills-based legal immigration. Bringing in more scientists, engineers & doctors is good for US jobs.”
Not surprisingly, Omar didn’t even bother to respond. Like so many other leftists, she traffics in bumper sticker politics rather than engaging in actual fact-based debates.
Omar is the nation’s first Muslim congresswoman. So far, during her short tenure in office, she has been accused numerous times of trafficking in anti-Semitism.
Cruz, on the other hand, is a strong supporter of Israel. He has been a loud critic of Ilhan Omar and her ilk He has a long history of defending the Jewish state and its people.
Sadly, many Democrats haven’t had the courage to speak out against Omar’s anti-semitism and have instead remained silent. It is indicative of the Democratic Party’s terrifying evolution from the center left to extreme progressivism.
